Shadrack Sibiya bail bid continues - A look at allegations stacked against him
The Madlanga Commission will engage Serge Cabonge and obtain a statement from him. This follows voice recordings attributed to Cabonge in the bail hearing of Shadrack Sibiya in the Randburg Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. Former Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya will continue his bail application today at the Randburg Magistrate Court. He has been in custody for three weeks, facing charges of rape, trafficking, and sexually grooming a minor. Yesterday, the court heard an audio recording attributed to a conversation between Mr M and socialite Serge Cabonge. In the recording allegedly sent to Sibiya's wife by Mr M, Cabonge claimed that Sibiya is allegedly involved in criminal relationships with a number of people, including Vusimusi 'Cat' Matlala, Sergeant Fannie Nkosi and Hangwane Maumela. Sibiya has also been implicated and his testimony has been heard at the Madlanga Commission regarding the alleged criminal infiltration in the SAPS. To talk more on the implications of the evidence heard in court yesterday in Shadrack Sibiya's bail application, we are joined by JP Venter, Director at Ulrich Roux and Associates.
