Malema Firearm Case | Malema returns to KuGompo court for pre-sentencing: Analysts weigh in

Economic Freedom Fighters Leader Julius Malema is expected to appear at the East London Magistrate's Court in KuGompo today for pre-sentencing proceedings in his firearms discharge case. Malema was convicted in October last year on charges linked to the discharge of a firearm during the party's fifth anniversary rally in Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape in 2018. His former bodyguard, Adriaan Snyman, was acquitted. Pre-sentencing proceedings, which began earlier this year, were postponed, leaving the party in uncertainty as it awaits the court's decision.

To look at both legal and political implications of his case, we are now joined by legal analyst Ulrich Roux and political analyst Khanyi Magubane.
